Meet the Church

Stavanger Lutheran Church is in a season between Pastors. We were blessed to have Pastor Phil Peterson for 31 years, until his retirement in August 2024. Our pastoral call committee is actively searching for a new lead pastor.

In the interim, we are excited to announce Reverend Jennifer Bennet, Master of Divinity, is serving as Intentional Interim Pastor, beginning January 2025.  

Pastor Jennifer currently lives in Gilbert, AZ with her husband Denton (also a pastor), three of their children, Stephanie, Luke, and Trae, and their Colorado Mountain dog, who is (of course!) named Luther.

She studied at Sioux Falls Seminary and is ordained and certified through the LCMC. Pastor Jennifer is pursuing her Doctor of Ministry with an emphasis in Transitional Ministry. She has served churches dealing with internal conflict and other forms of transition, such as moving from ELCA to LCMC. 

Pastor Jennifer will be working full time for Stavanger for around one year, splitting her time between Seneca and Gilbert, with us in person three Sundays.  We are all excited to see what God has in store for Stavanger as Pastor Bennet guides us through this transition period.
